“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for putting smiles on children”
Message from Special Ministries,
Dear Special Ministries/Helping Kenya Kids Supporters,

This year 2023, Special Ministries is marking an important milestone as it marks 39 years of dedicated service to the children and Hope centers communities in Kenya.

Special Ministries has been working to empower and improve the lives of Kenyans since 1984 and is involved in assisting 5 of 47 counties in Kenya with Education, Health, Spiritual growth and clean water and other programs. As a child-focused organization, what we want to see is that children thrive. We want to create an environment that will enable children be able to attain the fullest potential that is endowed in each one of them and above all making them followers of Jesus. Through your sponsorship, school feeding program, we are providing lunch in our Hope center schools for 404 children every day.

We help them discover the Hope that is found through Jesus Christ, last year through our VBS children program and Bible study Club 56 children accepted Jesus as their savior and as well in our Jesus film 6 times broadcast in the Hope centers villages 7 adults also accepted Jesus as their savior. For example, when we embark on establishing Hope centers schools for children where children can gain literacy skills, we activate their desire to dare dream again. From such centres, children have gone on to join formal schooling, which sets them on the right path to pursuing their dreams and contribute meaningfully in their societies.

As we celebrate this year 2023, we want to remember the dedication of those who have worked so hard before us, recalling many signs of God’s grace in our ministry work. We are encouraged by what has happened in the past years, as we look ahead to the enormous work that still lies ahead.

As Special Ministries we want to appreciate you our donors and the many sponsors that have made Special Ministries Kenya what it is today. We are deeply indebted to you for your generosity. This 39th year is about our donors. We thank you for your faithfulness in supporting the work that we do.

In a special way we recognize Helping Kenya Kids USA and Family Church. We acknowledge your support which has contributed to the success of our work, which enable us, reach the communities where we work.

To our Hope centers, the support of the children and their communities. We salute the communities for their resilience. Your partnership has been invaluable in enabling us achieve transformational development through land donation for the ministry work.

We recall with immense gratitude the partnership we have enjoyed with the government in Kenya as they supported Special Ministries more directly in the past and now as key advocacy partner. This was evident during Covid-19 pandemic when Special Ministries was granted permission by government of Kenya to continue serving and reaching out to communities for food distribution when the country was locked down. All these happened because of your support, we say THANK YOU.

It was a widespread drought and famine as starvation and drought ravaged the country. Hunger remains a threat, made worse by the accelerating drought cycle in East Africa. We are reminded at this time of the important role that Special Ministries staff and donors play to help preserve lives and protect communities affected by Drought. Through your Monthly support of Drought food for families program, has reached and feed 600 vulnerable families every month across our Hope centers.

As we usher in the New Year, by maintaining our focus on enabling children and their families and communities to reach their full potential through our education, health, sponsorship program and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Special Ministries Kenya has demonstrated innovative practices that are vital to modern development work. We celebrate the gains in Water, and Hygiene and the efforts that we have made in education sponsorship program to further the aims of access to education for all children. Moving forward, Special Ministries would like to leave a lasting impact on the children. We want to see children do the things that they would want to do without any hindrances whatsoever.

To achieve this we want our development interventions to go deeper and we will do this through partnership. We recognize that we cannot do anything on our own thus we need to partner with the donors, sponsors, communities, children, the Church and the government. We want to continue to grow our partnership with our donors and many other like-minded organizations.

Finally, allow me to congratulate the staff of Special Ministries Kenya. Through the year our staff have demonstrated that they are truly dedicated to ensure we reach the children and communities that are most in need. I salute all our staff for the good work.
