God’s Grace, Growth & Impact - May/June 2025
A Message from the Team
by Samson Nangole
National Director, Special Ministries/Helping Kenya Kids
Warm greetings from the Special Ministries and Helping Kenya Kids team! We are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support, prayers, and partnership. May & June were filled with God’s grace, growth, and impact. From educational advancements and medical outreach to discipleship and child sponsorships, your generosity continues to transform lives. We are excited to share a few highlights of what your support helped make possible this month.
EDUCATION & SPONSORSHIP UPDATE
Empowering the Next Generation
Our Hope Center schools continue to thrive, and we celebrate our students’ academic growth thanks to the dedication of our teachers and the support of our sponsors.
7 new children were sponsored in May, bringing the total number of fully sponsored students to 122.
307 children are still waiting for a sponsor. We continue to pray and trust God to move more hearts to action.
Thank you to every sponsor and donor making a lasting difference—one student at a time.
TEACHER DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING
Building Capacity with Jamie Sutherland
Jamie Sutherland, a skilled trainer and coach traveling with the Helping Kenya Kids mission team, generously led a powerful teacher development program for educators across our Hope Centers. Hosted at Kimelok Mission School, this training focused on:
Child-centered teaching
Trauma-informed education
Curriculum adaptation
Positive classroom management
Reflective teaching practices
Thanks to Jamie’s wisdom and passion, our teachers are now collaborating more effectively, teaching with greater impact, and creating more nurturing, supportive classrooms for their students. We’re deeply grateful for the lasting impact of this training—and it’s just the beginning.
How could your gifts be used in Kenya? Mission trips for 2026 are already being planned!
BIBLE CLUBS & DISCIPLESHIP
Our School Bible Clubs grew in participation and impact this spring, focusing on Colossians 2:6-7. Key topics included prayer, integrity, and God’s purpose for youth.
Students stepped up to lead in worship, prayer, and Bible readings.
A new “Devotion Corner” at Osegel Hope Center offered space for quiet reflection.
Pastors and Christian teachers worked together to disciple young hearts.
We praise God for the deep spiritual growth happening in our schools!
MEDICAL OUTREACH
In partnership with the visiting Helping Kenya Kids Mission Team, the IL-Kerin medical team hosted a successful medical camp at the IL-Kerin Hope Center Clinic:
156 people served
12 children received medical care
Services included check-ups, treatment, counseling, and well child checks and support
The clinic is transforming the community—improving health awareness, increasing access to care, strengthening unity, and offering spiritual encouragement through prayer and connection. It stands as a beacon of health and hope, and it’s all possible because of your support. Thank you!
Nourishing Bodies, Fueling Minds
Our student sponsorship program feeds over 520 children daily across our three Hope Centers. These daily meals are doing more than filling empty stomachs—they’re improving children’s health and nutrition, boosting school attendance and focus, strengthening collaboration between families and staff, and increasing enrollment and retention. It’s a vital part of building a brighter future for every child.
Together, we are helping kids grow strong—in body, mind, and spirit.
PASTOR’S TRAINING
Our monthly training sessions for Hope Center pastors continue to bear fruit. The focus on “The Real Jesus” by Pastor Adam has deepened pastors’ faith and broadened their scriptural teaching.
Transformation Highlights:
More relevant and powerful preaching in school chapel services
Broader engagement in discipleship across communities
Increased unity and support among pastors
We thank God for the pastors who shepherd our Hope Centers and the donors who empower them.
THANK YOU
From every child in a classroom, every teacher in training, every mother at a medical camp, and every pastor in the pulpit—thank you for your partnership. You are making the hope of Jesus known across Kenya, one life at a time.
Together, we are building lasting change.
