Stand In The Gap - July/August 2025
A Message from the Team
by Samson Nangole
National Director, Special Ministries/Helping Kenya Kids
Warm greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
As we look back on July and August 2025, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for God’s steadfast love and faithfulness. These past months have been a testimony of His favor—lives were touched, hope was restored, and the Gospel was shared through both word and action.
From Vacation Bible School to pastoral training, from feeding children to watching entire communities transformed, every moment reflected both spiritual renewal and practical love in action.
Together, we are witnessing God’s Kingdom advancing—one child, one family, and one community at a time. Thank you for being part of this story of transformation!
Spiritual Impact Through Vacation Bible School (VBS)
This July, our VBS program—led by the mission team from the United States—reached more than 600 children across our Hope Centers. Each session was filled with gospel-centered activities designed to help children grow in their faith, including:
Interactive Bible Stories that brought Scripture to life.
Worship and Praise through songs and joyful expression.
Crafts, Games, and Scripture Memory to make learning fun and lasting.
Gospel Invitations where many children made first-time commitments to Christ or renewed their faith.
At the same time, adults gathered under trees for Bible studies, reflecting on themes such as being born again (John 3), authentic discipleship, and family-centered faith. These moments sparked powerful testimonies of renewal and recommitment—reminding us that God’s Word never returns empty.
Empowering Pastors: Training That Transforms
Our pastoral training program is making a powerful impact across the Hope Centers. Through regular gatherings and study of The Real Jesus by Pastor Adam, pastors are growing in both knowledge and faith.
The results have been incredible:
Deeper understanding of Scripture and how to preach in ways that connect with everyday life.
Renewed personal spiritual growth, fueling their ministry from the inside out.
Greater boldness in leading discipleship programs within their communities.
Richer, more diverse preaching during chapel and Sunday services, moving away from repetition to Spirit-led, Scripture-filled messages.
These trainings are equipping pastors to shepherd not just their congregations, but entire communities—building Christ-centered fellowships rooted in truth and love.
US Mission Team: Love In Action
In July, a mission team from Holland, Michigan, spent 12 unforgettable days in Kenya, combining practical help with powerful ministry:
VBS & Adult Outreach: Hundreds of children grew in faith while adults deepened their understanding of salvation.
Playground at Kimelok: A new swing set brought laughter, joy, and a safe space for kids to just be kids.
Accessible Latrine at Osegel: A first for Narok County—providing dignity and inclusion for children with disabilities.
Kids for Kids Program: Ten children received twenty goats, giving them a sustainable way to fund future education.
Community Worship & Staff Encouragement: Gatherings of prayer, praise, and encouragement strengthened faith and unity for families, teachers, and health workers alike.
This trip was a beautiful reminder that when love meets action, lives are transformed.
Health & Medical Ministry: Healing in Jesus’ Name
In July, the Ilkerin Hope Center Clinic cared for 51 patients, offering both treatment and preventive care. The clinic provided:
Maternal and child health services
Immunizations
Support for chronic conditions
Nutrition education and follow-up care
Every patient not only received medical attention but also prayer and encouragement—reminders that Jesus is the ultimate Healer. 🙏
This clinic is more than a medical facility; it’s a living testimony of compassion, service, and God’s heart for the sick and vulnerable.
Education & Child Sponsorship Update
Praise God for the gift of education! This month, six more children joined our sponsorship program—bringing the total of fully sponsored students to 128. However, there are over 520 children receiving daily services across our three Hope Centers.
Each sponsorship provides:
A Christ-centered education
Nutritious daily meals
Uniforms, books, and school supplies
Discipleship and mentoring in faith
The need is great! These kids dream of becoming pastors, teachers, nurses, and leaders. Without support, those dreams may never be realized.

Celebrating Milestones: Accessibility & Dignity at Osegel
We are thrilled to share a historic moment at Osegel Hope Center: the commissioning of the first-ever accessible restroom for children with disabilities in Narok! 🙌
Parents, teachers, and local leaders joined in this celebration, marking a powerful turning point for accessibility in education and ministry. This milestone isn’t just about improved sanitation—it’s about dignity, opportunity, and declaring a vital truth: every child matters in the Kingdom of God.
💛 Thank you for helping us build spaces where all children are seen, valued, and loved.
THANK YOU
We are deeply thankful for the many hands and hearts that make this ministry possible:
🙌 The 2025 Mission Teams – for your servant hearts, compassion, and willingness to go.
💛 Sponsors, Donors, and Partners – for your faithful prayers, generosity, and encouragement.
⛪ Local Communities and Churches – for welcoming this mission and carrying it forward with us.
To God be all the glory! May His Kingdom continue to expand as together we stand in the gap, lift up the vulnerable, and proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ in both word and deed.
“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me...” – Mark 9:37
