Student Sponsorships

Help a Child Stay in School.

In rural Kenya, school fees, books, exam costs, and daily meals can keep a child from receiving the education they need. Your $35/month sponsorship helps provide the fees, resources, and lunch that allow a child to stay in school and succeed.

100% of funds raised in the U.S. are sent directly to Kenya.

The reality

In Kenya, school comes with costs many families cannot carry alone.

Every school in Kenya charges fees. Beyond basic school fees, students need books, learning resources, and required national exam fees at different stages of their education.

In rural areas, many parents work hard to provide for their families by caring for cattle and goats. They love their children and value education deeply. But the cost of sending a child to school can quietly become too much.

A child may want to learn. A parent may want their child in school. A teacher may be ready to teach. But fees, books, exams, and food can stand in the way.

That is where sponsorship changes the story.

What $35/month provides

Simple. Tangible. Life-changing.

Every month, your gift becomes school fees, notebooks, exam papers, a full lunch, and a steady sense of belonging.

School Fees

Your sponsorship helps cover the cost required for a child to attend school.

Books & Learning Resources

Students receive the materials they need to participate, learn, and grow.

Required Educational Expenses

Sponsorship helps cover costs connected to learning, advancement, and national exams.

A Daily Lunch

Because it is hard to learn on an empty stomach, every Helping Kenya Kids school provides lunch as part of the school day.

Spiritual Encouragement & Care

Through Helping Kenya Kids, children are connected to a Christ-centered environment where they are loved, known, and encouraged.

$35

per month

Roughly the cost of a family dinner out—every month, it keeps a child in class with a full stomach and every resource they need.

Sponsor a Student

More than a desk in a classroom

Sponsorship gives a child more than a seat in school.

It gives them consistency. Encouragement. The quiet permission to dream beyond survival.

A child watching other children walk to school

A child walking into the classroom with confidence.

A child trying to learn on an empty stomach

A child eating lunch and returning to class ready to focus.

A child feeling forgotten

A child knowing someone across the world is praying for them, writing to them, and cheering them on.

Know the student you sponsor

You don't just sponsor a student. You get to know them.

Every Student Sponsorship includes the opportunity to correspond directly with the child you sponsor. Hear how school is going, learn about their family, and send encouragement back across the world to Kenya.

A letter can remind a child that they are seen.

A note of encouragement can remind them that someone is praying for them.

A simple update can turn sponsorship from a monthly gift into a meaningful relationship.

“Getting a letter from our sponsored student changed how our whole family prays. She is no longer a name on a page. She is our friend.”

Meet the child you sponsor

And one day, you may be able to meet them.

One of the most unique and powerful parts of sponsoring through Helping Kenya Kids is that sponsors who travel to Kenya on one of our short-term mission trips may have the opportunity to meet the child they sponsor.

You may meet their parents. Visit their school. Sit with their teachers and hear how that specific student is growing.

Many describe it as one of the highlights of their lives.

Dignity, not dependency

We help children start strong—without creating dependency.

Helping Kenya Kids believes deeply in education. We also believe the goal is not to create long-term dependency between rural Kenyan children and outside sponsors.

For that reason, Helping Kenya Kids provides Student Sponsorships through the 6th grade. After 6th grade, families are expected to provide 100% of the funding needed for their child's continued educational growth and success.

Sponsorship is designed to help a child start strong. It removes the early barrier to education while encouraging long-term family ownership, responsibility, and sustainability.

Kids for Kids

That's why Kids for Kids matters.

Through Kids for Kids, a sponsor can give $100 to provide a pair of young goats for their sponsored child.

These goats provide milk for the family, teach responsibility to the student as they help raise and care for them, and create future opportunity as the goats reproduce.

Over time, the offspring can help the family fund the child's future educational needs—after sponsorship ends.
