Teacher Development • Kenya
Long before any visiting team arrives, Kenyan teachers are in their classrooms.
They know their students' names, their families, their hardships, and their hopes. They teach with limited resources and remarkable creativity, and they carry the spiritual life of their schools as much as the academics.
A teacher development trip is simply an invitation to come alongside them — sharing classroom ideas, offering encouragement, joining professional development conversations, and learning far more than we bring.
It matters because when one teacher is strengthened, an entire generation of students feels it. The work continues long after the team flies home, because Kenyan teachers are the ones leading it.

Kenyan teachers do extraordinary work with limited resources. Team members consistently say they came to teach and left having been taught.
Shared meals, long conversations, laughter in the schoolyard, and friendships between educators from two very different places.
Worship, prayer, Scripture, and honest conversations about Jesus become part of ordinary school days and ordinary evenings together.
People often travel to Kenya believing they are going to make a difference in someone else's life.
Then something unexpected happens.
They meet Kenyan pastors, teachers, mothers, fathers, children, ministry leaders, and community members whose faith, hospitality, perseverance, and joy begin changing them too.
A Helping Kenya Kids mission trip is not about Americans arriving with all the answers.
It is about serving alongside Kenyan brothers and sisters, learning from one another, building friendships, and discovering together what God can do when His people make themselves available.
Helping Kenya Kids leads several kinds of teams throughout the year, creating opportunities for people with different gifts, experiences, ages, and backgrounds to serve alongside our Kenyan partners.
You may come expecting to give. You may discover how much you receive.
